About

StrangerPsych

Sam Daly, illustrator behind StrangerPsych — black-and-white self-portrait

I started making posters because my bands couldn’t afford to hire anybody. The first one was a Wes Wilson rip with vibrating colors and melting letters, and it looked like shit. I kept making them anyway.

The art caught on before the bands did. Other local acts started to ask who made it and offering to pay me to do the same for them. The work has gotten better as the jobs have gotten bigger, and these days the jobs come from a lot further than Nashville.

StrangerPsych is the studio I run out of Nashville. I take commissions from bands, labels, venues, breweries, and brands who need original illustration with a point of view: concert posters, album artwork, merch, packaging, custom lettering, identity work. Recent clients include The Fillmore, Sierra Nevada, New Heights Brewing, Goose, Molly Tuttle, and Kristina Murray.

I’m adaptable. If you don’t know what you want, I can give you options. If you do know what you want, I can nail it. Revisions are part of the job, though if I’ve done mine well we won’t need many.

I’m Sam Daly. StrangerPsych is my art company.
